Sue Pratt

Vice President & Honorary Board Advisor

Sue Pratt has been an integral part of NEPGP since its early days, back when it began as the Massachusetts Professional Dog Groomers organization. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in its transformation, contributing to its growth and success. Sue served as NEPGP president from 1991 to 1993 and again from 2013 to 2015, bringing decades of experience and leadership to the organization.

With an impressive 50-year career in grooming, Sue was a competitive force in the mid and late 90s, earning numerous scissoring awards and accolades. Her achievements include two silver medals at Intergroom and the prestigious Best in Show title at the 1995 New England Grooming Show. For the past 15 years, Sue has served as the contest coordinator for both Intergroom and the New England shows, a role she continues to thrive in.

Sue’s passion for the grooming industry extends beyond competition—she loves attending grooming shows and has found joy in judging. A highlight of her career was being asked to judge Best in Show at the Atlanta Pet Fair, an honor she holds dear.

A natural mentor, Sue enjoys sharing her knowledge with fellow groomers. She believes that the camaraderie within NEPGP is key to its success.

As Sue looks forward to retirement, she hopes to enjoy a peaceful life with her beloved animals, which include six dogs, two cats, one horse, and a betta fish. Her contributions to the grooming community are lasting, and she remains a cherished figure within NEPGP.

Certifications & Education:

Everyone can learn something new by keeping your mind, eyes, and ears open, and by talking and listening to other groomers.
